I am looking for info on the model of these (M4A2?). Were they nz owned or borrowed from the US forces in nz?

I have never heard of these vehicles before. What is your info source?
I'm almost certain NZ Army has ever owned Sherman. The logistics of just having two would be horrendous. Definitely not in the NZ number list although admit it does have gaps.
Even the 'Sherman' in the museum now is actually a Grizlly.

hi yes like you, I have never heard of the NZ army having Shermans that's why I wonder if they were borrowed from the u.s, it's from a provisional war establishment table for the N.Z.A.F.V school for October of 1943 at NZ archives reference no AD67 16 Hildaren

As far as I have heard the Army in NZ had Valentines and Stuarts, and they did not get into Shermans till they reached Egypt, or in some cases Italy.

I wondered if you had come across one of the forestry Skyline Hauly that were mounted on former Sherman/Grizley chassis.

Some interesting vehicles. Only the Shermans appear to be out of the ordinary although not certain what a 'Carrier Flint' is.
