I believe the following entry is regarding the loss of NZ2065

Sunday, 2 January 1944
1320. An R.N.Z.A.F. Hudson aircraft took off to intercept a Task Unit and escort to Nandi, but failed to return. Aircraft were sent out in search of the lost plane, last seen flying west at 1430 this date in approximate position 17°-34' South, 175°-36' East heading for rendezvous with ships at 1530. U.S.S. YMS 196 was dispatched from Nandi at approximately 1418 to position 16° 50' South - 173° East to assist in the search. The plane had a crew of five on board.
