Been watching this 2015 series (Gallipoli)on Netflix and found it fascinating. Mainly follows the Australians but the Wellington lads were shown. Very much reminded me of Band of Brothers.

Yes that is a terrific series, really well written and acted. I remember when it first aired there was some Aussie 'historian' who bagged it bigtime in their media and as a result the ratings bombed there. Yet a load of the points he picked on he was wrong about and the series had it right. One of them was he claimed there was never a Maori haka before an attack there - there was, and it is well documented as having happened. It goes to show you critics can sway opinion and the general public takes their word for it even if it's nonsense.
