yep...well...it probably would have corroded out 25 years ago, just like all amphibians and flying boats have in the past It went the same way as the twin-engined C-130 or was it L-400 dreamed up in the 1970's

Since we are dreaming, wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a dedicated flying boat off the shelf? The Japanese, Chinese and Russians are still building them.

A C130 on floats is going to need a massive increase in fin/ rudder area, and the ramp would be so high off the ground, they could abseil off the ramp.

Darn big brother is watching. Now Facebook is suggesting I look at a Popular Mechanics article on float C-130 after I did a few searches on this subject.
