Well, possibly not the star, as such... Episode 8 of the Netflix show Sweet Tooth featured a cameo of the former ZK-WHJ, resplendent in movie make-up as a crashed derelict with a false identity. ZK-WHJ 2 by Matt Smith, on Flickr ZK-WHJ 3 by Matt Smith, on Flickr

So is that in NZ? If not, where's the former WHJ now?

The show was filmed in NZ using mainly US actors. Apparently it was one of the first productions to restart after lockdown.

My sister's partner worked on the crew.

Thanks but part 2 of the question - where is she now?

If you watch the series (I would recommend it) there is a shot of the cockpit with the ZK-WHJ plate in "plane" view!

ZK-WHJ is off the civil register. Was it wrecked? ...or just retired? Cessna 185s are valuable machines. I wonder if a restoration is on the cards?

ZK-WHJ was cancelled from the register in 2016 as destroyed.
I don't know if legally it can be 'un-destroyed' and re-registered, but it looks complete enough to be a viable candidate for rebuilding. It might not be economically viable to pay someone to do the rebuild, but it might work as a spare-time project in a shop or as a hobby activity by someone with the appropriate qualifications.
