Hi all, ZK-CIE is looking for a good home, she was offered to MoTAT, however the offer was ultimately turned down. Air Chathams are offering the airframe for free, pending removal costs etc. Duane has suggested that the aircraft can even be ferried providing costs to attain the ferry permit and operating/re-establishment costs are met. They do not wish to scrap the aircraft, they would rather that it was saved however if it does not find a home they may not have much choice. AIAL apparently does not take well to lingering airframes at Mangere!
I have contacted Bring Our Birds Home, however other than a short burst of interested email activity on Friday night they seem to have gone silent. Anyone know of any other potential leads? Perhaps Classic Flyers in Tauranga? Ferrymead?

Would National Transport Museum in Wanaka be interested, they have bought time expired airframes from Oz!

I believe they are part of the Bring Our Bird's Home group...Jason Rhodes was copied into email conversations on Friday by Paul Brennan, so they know about the situation

It might be worth contacting them again or giving them a little bit more time.

It might be worth [...] giving them a little bit more time. I'm not sure that's much of an option... AIAL apparently does not take well to lingering airframes at Mangere! I've already got a neighbour with CIF in his backyard so it'd be rude to steal his thunder, and Mum would rather a Mustang or Iroquois to keep CBG company so I'm afraid I can't help. Seriously though, I hope a home can be found for her and she can be put on display. Good luck to all involved and should I have a sudden strike of inspiration I'll be back.

Airways NZ staff have refer to their AIAL ‘friends’ as being a great car parking company! There is no passion for Aviation in the airport company , only beurocrats!

I'd be interested in taking up the aircraft that's for sure! Who could I get in contact with?
