Two injured as light aircraft tips over on landing in Dargaville, NorthlandRipu Bhatia 15:00, Jul 03 2021 GOOGLE MAPS/SUPPLIED The incident happened at Dargaville Aero Club in Northland. Two people have been injured, one seriously, after a light plane tipped over on landing in Northland. Police received report of the crash at Dargaville Aerodrome at 12.15pm on Saturday, a spokeswoman said. Fire and Emergency also responded by sending several fire trucks. A St John spokeswoman said one person with serious injuries was taken to Whangārei Hospital, and one with moderate injuries had been taken to Dargaville Hospital. Murray Farrand, of Dargaville Aero Club, said the incident involved an RV plane, and two people were on-board when it tipped over on landing. Those involved were not club members, he said, and the incident had not affected any other flights. The club has about 130 members, and is situated beside the Wairoa River. Its 1000-metre limestone air strip can be used during all types of weather. The aero club hosts a fly-in lunch every Saturday, which people fly to from across the country, according to its website. www.stuff.co.nz/national/300348896/two-injured-as-light-aircraft-tips-over-on-landing-in-dargaville-northland
