Yes I have been following that page for a long time. They have a terrific collection, including a genuine wartime Heinkel 111.

Yup, great place on hallowed ground. Went years back, but their no photography policy is draconian. This is taken from a vacant plot of land next to the museum, on ground that used to be RAF Hawkinge. That's the Hawkinge watch office at front and is now used by the museum. Note the Hurricane repros. 2307 Hawkinge watch office

it is just a shame that they have all those GRP replicas indoors and the genuine Blenheim and Heinkel 111 out in the weather.

Yeah, like everywhere, space is a premium. I don't think they could get the He 111 indoors, it's too big but the Boli could go inside (it's a Canadian built Bolingbroke, but no one's checking...) The main building with the aircraft and wrecks in it was the MT shed and is long in shape, big enough to house fighters though.

I made a special trip to the museum on my trip to the UK and it was worth the effort. I highly recommend going there if you are able to. And yes a shame about the no photos policy, being Brits they didn't care that I'd come from halfway around the world to visit, rules are rules...

They put heaps of photos up on their Facebook page anyway, so we can at least look at them.
