Whenever there is a major tragedy around the world there always seems to be some connection to little New Zealand. When the de Havilland DH110 crashed into the crowd at Farnborough Airshow in 1952, it was no exception. This is from the Press, 23 September 1952:
Mrs Guy Pascoe (Cranmer square) has received news that her 13-year-old grandson, John Morgan, had one of his legs broken when he was a spectator at the Farnborough air pageant a few weeks ago. The lad, who is in his first term at Harrow school, is a son of Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs David Morgan (formerly Miss Alice Pascoe). They have received letters of sympathy from the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Queen Mary.
