Does anyone have any ideas about why our aviation magazines are not being issued? (apart from covid and delays at unloading in akl?) I miss my Aeroplane and Flypast, I know there are ways to obtain these digitally But I prefer hard copy.

I know Aviation News has published its last issue - they recently announced they have been bought by NBR and they will just include some aviation features within NBR.

That needs a bit of clarification, the last hard copy issue of NZAvNews, not the last issue. It will remain as an online entity only.

Not according to what I saw - email to their advertisers said it will be included within NBR.

"From 1 November, after almost 44 years in print, we will be entirely online within nbr.co.nz, and the Aviation News section will in due course contain our entire library of digital back issues. From that date, instead of publishing monthly we’ll upload stories as they’re written—delivering a more timely and just as relevant news source to the aviation community. If you’re an Aviation News subscriber, the balance of your subscription will be transferred to an nbr.co.nz premium monthly subscription (worth $35/month)."
NZAN just becomes newsy type items within NBR the publication itself does not exist anymore.

NZAN just becomes newsy type items within NBR the publication itself does not exist anymore. I'm a freelancer for the magazine and when I asked John, the editor about it, this was his response: "Aviation News will be a separate section, and subscribers will have access to that part only at $8.99/month without having to pay the $399/year for the full NBR. The change in content will be minimal, and it will also let me publish this considerable backlog of historical material that's been building up. Back issues of Aviation News will also be online, so rummaging for something you read years ago will be easier."
