Well, that is one of the best and cleanest B&W films from the National Film Unit so far. Took me a while to twig to what they were talking about about half way through, when discussing the changeover of control from Harewood to Wellington, finally twigged that the words were "Handover, Able Oboe Dog", the old pre-ICAO phonetic alphabet, which I had almost forgotten about. Strangely enough, year of the film is 1951, same year as my birth, but I didn't know anything about ICAO at the time. I had an idea that the "new" alphabet (Alpha Bravo Charlie) was introduced in 1949, but perhaps New Zealand was just a little behind the times. Some great Kiwi accents of the time in there too.
