This unfinished First Strike Bobcat was offered on Trademe recently:
Keith Morris states on Civair, "ZK-JVW (c/n MAANZ 463) was registered to Jack V Wilson of Timaru on 23/10/91. Ownership changed to Mike Fleming of Rangiora on 18/12/97 but it was cancelled from the register on 5/8/02." Can anyone tell me about Jack Wilson or Mike Fleming?

a) the clue should have been that the post is in microlights, and
b) they don't run VWs

Ditto that. What a disappointment! In addition, despite contributors' personal preferences on what aircraft they consider worthy, I thought it was a reasonable request for information.

Absolutely a reasonable request. No problems there. It is just funny how a word triggers a preconceived image. I spotted Bobcat and immediately thought of the Cessna but was quite happy to see that my conclusion was off the mark, because I'd never heard of the First Strike Bobcat, so I have learned about another aeroplane type.

The August 2002 cancellation was stated to be due to the aircraft being exported, but apparently this did not happen. There was a previous ad for selling it on TradeMe in October 2019, with this photo:

Well, guys and gals, there is still more to learn! JVW is in fact a "Supercat" with shorter wingspan - no doubt for even greater top speed! She is also now safely installed in my hangar:
