I have 2 spare P3 airfames (minus engines) looking for a project. Some of you can guess what I'm up to I sourced relevant parts from One Man Model... I still need to extend the forward fuselage using the cylindrical tail section from the 2nd kit. I have also cut out the weapons bay from this model and will replace with a section of roof from the 2nd model...should be an interesting build. l188 by Harry Follas, on Flickr

The puzzle continued, roof of fuselage no.2 is now replacing the weapons bay of no.1. The forward fuselage is now extended scale 7ft & resembles an Electra somewhat thumbnail_image0 by Harry Follas, on Flickr

Bravo Harry, nice save on something that could so easily have been trashed.

Spent a bit more time on the P3/Electra jigsaw puzzle over the weekend...Looks like an L-188 Conveniently the entire cockpit assembly fits nicely into OneMan Model's Electra nose section. Its a fairly big simplistic kit, I've decided to go to Authentic Airline Decals to get some photo-realistic Electra windows rather than do an interior. The chunky props definitely define it as an L188

Just about finished the beast Had some"fun" with decal paper, however the final result looks OK. Authentic Airways L-188 widows work a treat! They really bring the Electra to life Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Looks quite good with the DC-6, might do another with the Solent LoL Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr

Interesting comparison: You needed to shorten the fuselage to create the DC-6 and lengthen the fuselage to create the Electra... Love it (them)

Stunning. Reminds me I really need an AFD (or one of her sisters) in my own collection.
