I have been following the development of this series for years. Cannot wait.

Masters of the Air the series made by the people who did Band of Brothers and The Pacific:

That took my breath away - it looks like it will be well worth the wait.

It looks really good, as I would expect. But the Red Tails scenes puzzle me.

The trailer is appalling. Zero realism and maximum Hollywood over hype. Perfect for a Sci Fi movie but I find it hard to imagine that everyone can't see that this is in no way realistic. It seems US audiences have no attention span and only respond to hyper over dramatisation - painful... I certainly wont be wasting my time with it.

It looks really good, as I would expect. But the Red Tails scenes puzzle me. Considering the fact that the 100th Bombardment Group was in the 8th Airforce and the 322d Fighter Group (which contained all the Tuskeegee squadrons) was in the 12th Airforce it would be... total fiction to have them operating together. And I suspect we will never see any allied fighters other than P-51s because Spielberg has a hard on for them.

I guess the only reason the two Groups may have worked together would be if the B-17s were doing a shuttle run bombing missing where they flew on to North Africa or Allied-held Italy. We shall see.
If the Tuskegee Airmen are escorting the bombers at least none will be shot down, unless Spielberg and Hanks choose to blast that Hollywood myth out of the water.

Here’s something for those unimpressed by what we’ve seen so far: an 8.5min review examining the historical accuracy of a 2min teaser.
I’m sure faults will be found with this, too.

I'll watch it if given the chance but if I'm honest the trailer was a bit of a disappointment.
1990's Memphis Belle holds more appeal. Even the B-24 bombing mission scene from Unbroken appears better.
But in this day in age not every WWII aviation film/series can be like The Battle of Britain.

Does not scratch the surface on how inaccurate ( and painful) it is. It's such as shame as it flies in the face of everything that has been done at the Thorpes Abbot /100th BW museum and how dare they use the beautiful Sally B in such a poor way - hope the paid well for the privilege.
