Checkout this terrific video of an airshow over the Auckland Harbour in 1995. Does anyone know the date of this? The Venom and Mustang were both flown by Trevor Bland, but who flew the other aeroplanes please? Also I know there has been at least one other Auckland harbour airshow by warbirds since this one, sponsored by TVNZ to promote the premiere of the HBO series "The Pacific". It took place on the 11th of April 2010, and apparently a massive crowd turned out to watch the ten minute dogfight. Two Harvards, NZ1057 and NZ1098 got temporary Japanese markings, and they were chased around the Mission Bay waterfront by P-40N ZK-CAG. More at rnzaf.proboards.com/thread/11018/tvnz-dogfight-enact-mission-bayHave there been any other waterfront warbird airshows at Auckland?

My wife & I watched it from the embankment above the railway line opposite the container terminal. Great view from our vantage point. There was also a large fire-works display.
Ya gotta love the sound of the kids excitement

I remember going to see that - the Venom in particular is quite a clear memory. No idea for certain what the date was but I have a feeling it may have been Auckland Anniversary Day?

Thanks for sharing Dave. As I say above only had that one memory so never actually knew what the event was. What a great show!

I would like to add the two Twining shows to the New Zealand Airshow Archive but I need to know who all the pilots/crews were that took part. All I know for sure is in that 1995 show the Mustang and the Venom was flown by Trevor Bland.
And which aircraft and pilots took part in the 1996 one? Are there any photos or videos from that?
