A trip down Memory Lane As a kid (1950's - early 60's) with a love of plastic kits, Airfix with a few Revell were the norm. But to discover that the Airfix Wellington was a 75 (NZ) Sqn aircraft was amazing. (Little NZ in a far-flung corner of the globe- wow) and then to find that their Mosquito was from 487 Sqn, well that was a proud moment for this youngster. Then in the nascent decal market, Almark produced their S2 sheet of the RNZAF P-40, F4U & P-51 as well as the Battle of Britain C1 sheet with Al Deere's Kiwi. To watch the explosion in kit and after-market products (plus home-made) is an interesting subject in its own right. I have made data sheets of Civil, RNZAF & NZ connections which I have enjoyed - well I still do as it is a dynamic market. So I thought I would dedicate a site to Modellers that have built aircraft with a Kiwi connection. Let me know what you thinks of this idea.

I remember sending away UK Pound postal notes for a set of those RNZAF decals then waiting months for them to arrive. Little did we know the colour errors.

You have made a lovely job of that P-40B Tomahawk, wow! The model was made by Britmodeller member "woody37" whose profile says they reside in Cheshire and whose name is given as Neil - Antonio, is this you?

And my build quality certainly never came close to the model-marvels of today. Sorry for the confusion I've updated the post to give credit to Woody37.

Incidentally William Houston's nephew Mark is a Senior CAA Safety Advisor with the Flight Operations Team. I've worked with him extensively in the past when he was the Principal of Unmanned Aircraft Operations with CAA. He has extensive experience in Ag Aviation and I also believe he was a captain with Eagle Air on the Beech 1900D. He's Hastings based and his father was also involved with aviation in Hawkes Bay being involved with NZAM in the early days
