Stunning trans Tasman gem

This stunning machine came through late this afternoon, low cloud and rain so
not the best conditions for photography, for some reason the grey sky and the
alloy seem to fit in and in some way shape or form she pops?












Threw in a black and white for good measure.

Wonderful change in the weather, stunning out in the Tasman today, stunning
machine as well, something about polished alloy!

Had no idea what large flaps they had on those Lockheed 12s. Also the tail fins look very similar to those fitted on the later Lockheed 14s, quite unlike those of its predecessor (Lockheed 10 Electra). Magnificent images!

Bit of footage of the Lockheed 12 that recently came through.

Need to fact check that history against what I found.....more later. But I dispute that it was built as a Lockheed 12....it had 5 seats. I also do not believe that it was redesignated.
