Up in Brisbane on my way to NZ, plan was to attend the now twice postponed Brisbane Airshow. Sadly due to the bad weather the east coast of Australia is experiencing the show will be next weekend. Time to kill so decided to take a two hour drive out to Oakey and visit the Army Aviation Museum, a more exstensive collection than I expected. In a paddock off in the distance a weather beaten Caribou in an early scheme. A few tail draggers Wingeels did spend a period of their service life as forward air control aeroplanes. Auster. The Birddog story is interesting, was but up from an American dump in South Vietnam, end up back in Australia as a glider tug. Nomad More soon..........

She's now at RAAF Amberley which is currently closed to the public, here's an old pic of her back in the early nineties and no I didn't get mauled by the Alsatian.

One of those museums I'd love to visit! I had no idea the collection was quite so large and diverse! Any pics, perchance, of the Zuccoli Boomerang? She's now at RAAF Amberley I didn't realise, thank you. Lovely photo and fine-looking dog! I forgot to say: all those replicas are a delightful surprise.
