The man I have always contacted with regard to QAM is Ron Cuskelly. We regularly exchange notes. Other New Zealand associated aircraft with QAM is the Heron VH-KAM which used to fly in New Zealand with Vincent Aviation in 1992/1993. Then there is Fokker Friendship ZK-RTA operating with Ansett and let's not forget NAC DC-3 ZK-AOZ. This aircraft left New Zealand in 1963 and became 5W-FAA leased to Polynesian Airlines replacing Percival Prince aircraft ZK-BYN and ZK-BYO. On a maintenance visit back to New Zealand it was fitted with undercarriage fairings. In 1968 it became PK-RDB with Seulawah Air Service in Indonesia. I understand it never got there as the purchase money was never completed so it sat for years on the tarmac at Darwin. On 25 December 1974 it was destroyed in Cyclone Tracey. Parts of PK-RDB were used in the repair of RAAF C-47 A65-104. Remarkably, the fairings however were not destroyed and in time made their way to QAM at Caloundra. Visited this museum about 7 years ago, so great to see progress, especially the Ventura.

My wife and I visited in 2010. Managed to talk my way into the cockpit of the C47. Tried for the Spitfire(which is in the UK now) but they didn't have a key for the canopy. Brilliant collection and one lm keen to revisit.

Another fascinating selection of types and I agree that it's wonderful to see the Ventura looking so healthy!
I remember when the Broussard and Wirraway were airworthy - not that I ever saw them in person!

I found your video from this visit Peter, one note for the beginning: the twin pusher at the start is a Beech Starship!!

I had a look around this museum last week. Very impressed. A great and interesting collection. I was impressed with the size and nature of the collection, considering how few "government donations" they appear to have received. I much enjoyed walking around, in particular having a good look at aircraft I've not seen before. My photos pretty much match planecrazy's so nothing to post from me. If you in the neighbourhood, go visit!

Yes well worth a visit and not too far a drive from Brisbane, you can also visit the smaller Caboolture museum on the way up to Caloundra. Had they made any progress on the Spitfire replica?

Great photos, thanks planecrazy. I visited last year and was impressed with the collection and the effort of the organisation.
Another exhibit with New Zealand connections: Metroliner painted as VH-BPV was once ZK-SWC with Air Albatross.
