I'm looking for info on NAPS vessels operated 1942-1944 at Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. Queries listed by pennant no. WELLINGTON: Z71, Z73, Z75, Z77, Z79, Z80, Z81, Z82. Two probables, Volante (1915), Miss Ava (1931) - not Z70. LYTTELTON: Z121, Z123, Z126. One possible, Antipodes, after Police service. PORT CHALMERS: Z161-Z165, Z167-Z169. One probable, Muritai, damaged in 1942 collision with a ferry. For those not familiar with NAPS, they were like a naval homeguard, operating out of Whangarei, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Phased out as Fairmiles and HDMLs came into service.
