Had no idea what category to put this under...been following Mark Felton's YouTube channel for a while and he makes really great, unbiased and well researched videos that cover all sorts of obscure bits of history. In this case it is the usage of TDR-1 Drones during WW2, they were ahead of their time but phased about before the wars end due to short sighted management.

Fortunately one survives complete at the Smithsonian and there is a collection of parts at Dekalb Airport in the hope of rebuilding another albeit one that features a cockpit like many which were converted afterwards for private use. Just thought it's an interesting chapter in history and a plane that looks ahead of it's time.

Never seen any footage of them actually in use.....bloody marvellous ! Again, something else that I have learned from this Forum : )
