In the July 1983 issue of JAHSNZ, in the article RNZAF Roundels, Part 2: Post-war, Cliff Jenks wrote about tradesmen who had painted up a large Kiwi Roundel and mounted it in the inside of a hangar wall - where visiting officers could hardly fail to miss it.
