Yep. Had a relaxing day enjoying the beautiful sunshine, distant scenery, and the presence of historic and classic airframes. The Lincoln Sports ZK-BMV completely enamoured me, what a gem! 20221022_093310 by

The Museum is a great collection of varied types and historical memorabilia, which I always enjoy visiting. The airfield likewise is a national treasure in my opinion. Rich history, beautiful grass vectors - pointing in all directions, and a healthy population of private aircraft. Long may it remain unmolested nor threatened by "progress".

Is that tank a Walker Bulldog? Any idea where it is based? I believe that's what the sign said... 1959 NZ Army example. It was transported on a truck dedicated to it. From out of town is all I know.

Yes great photos Johnnie. Teresa and I were pleasently surprised to see our wedding car, a 1942 For V8 and just found this piece about it: "A 1942 Ford V8 that once carried the Queen was among the military vehicles gracing West Street yesterday morning. The well-groomed car came to New Zealand in 1960, owner Cliff Begg said." 17 years ago we were in this at Wigram. Now we live in Wigram! 312328325_10167110126440492_4885553835483989635_n by Barry Tod, on Flickr

Johnny, would like to see a shot of the Chrislea if you took one, curious about it's current colour scheme I tried, but I couldn't get a good angle... There is only the nose showing in the shot of the Lincoln Sports. All over white with red stripes. Quite tidy.

Is that tank a Walker Bulldog? Any idea where it is based? Yeah old mate with the M41 Walker Bulldog, comes from up Mayfield/ Mt Somers way. He drives the M41 to the local Mayfield Show every yr& my brother lives in Mayfield so knows hm quite well btw. I believe he may also have an Mk5 or 6 Aussie Centurion with all the whistles & bells that was up for sale in CHCH a few yrs back? There is also a couple of ex M113’s floating about in Canterbury as well, which the Canterbury Branch of the RNZAC Assn which I’m a part of has a wee play about every 2yrs. I think the last big bash was per Covid19 & before that dickhead went nuts at in CHCH as they blank firing as well. Also Rt Hon Ron Mark turned up, he was ex LAD 1 NZ Scots SQN New Zealand Scottish Regt back in the day & his driving/ Crew Commanding skills were still to a reasonable standard which impressed a few of the old hands from QA, 1 Scots & Wai/Wec personal. Given my personal & health circumstances atm, it’s highly likely I’m returning to NZ within the next 24yrs. So I’ve always said, I’ll buy either a Bren Gun Carrier in NZ Div CAV Markings & or V8 Landrover to convert to a ex NZ Scots/ 2 Scots Recon Wagon.

Johnny, would like to see a shot of the Chrislea if you took one, curious about it's current colour scheme You can see it's nose just peeking in to view in Johnnies first two photos. Not sure if he took a complete photo. Teresa took this one but ruined it by having me in it! 312339886_10167110128555492_4835158678737181303_n by Barry Tod, on Flickr

Thanks for that pic Baz, I now know the shade of red for my indoor flying model. Don't really need your colour details(but I'll file them away in case they are needed as evidence)
