Last Saturday I had a very nice visit to Ardmore so I thought I'd share some photos.
Firstly I headed to NZ Warbirds' #2 hangar to see the Canberra in its new spot. There was a Hangar Talk about the restoration that afternoon.
Best overall view is generally from the mezzanine floor I imagine, unless nearly all the aircraft are outside. Really interesting to walk underneath however and look at the bomb bay and undercarriage.

Not sure if the model dioramas of D-Day airborne aircraft are new, but they look very nice.

A chat with the volunteers confirmed that the P-40 was going up shortly, so a couple of shots of the apron before heading over to Corsair Lane

Unfortunately something wasn't right, so Frank and Liz headed back. Woodsy was doing circuits in the Tiger, and there was plenty of GA activity. A plus to the trees being cut down is better angles being available as aircraft approach the grass runway.

Swung by the cafe for a sandwich on the way back to Warbirds and was pleased to see the Steerman out for an engine run and the Albatros being prepared.

Frank was kind enough to invite me to get some close-ups. I started with the Canberra wings which are the next project for the Canberra Group.

And Frank getting into the Albatros. Not as nice to fly as to look at!

People had decided that they were ok with a very slight tailwind, so around to Airfield Rd to catch the landings.
