I've been procrastinating with this Valom Seagull V kit for a while, however bit the bullet & built it as a Walrus... NZ151 'A' of the RNZAF Seaplane Training flight (which probably wouldn't have been armed...oh well!) Its a good model although a bit of 'fettling' is required & the rigging is a test of patience!! Good internal detail though with resin and photo-etch, a definite improvement on the old Matchbox/Revell kits. I substituted a good old DH Beaver tailwheel as the RNZAF aircraft had the pneumatic type rather than a solid rubber casteror Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr

I understand that many of the earlier (all-metal) Walrus amphibians had a cast METAL tailwheel for some reason, no rubber in sight, and these were (unsurprisingly) extremely noisy when taxiing on concrete or tarmac.
