This looks like one of the late-war Stirlings used as transports and more particularly for the dropping of supplies over Europe, perhaps to French resistance forces, or even to American/Bristish forces after D-Day. The "pretend" front turret is a bit of a clue. There are also a good selection of "achieved results" on the scoreboard, some of which require interpretation. Any keen types out there prepared like to enlighten the rest of us? Also one lonely, and small bomb on lower right, as well as 4 aircraft (in plan view form) - interesting. Possibly 2 whip aerials aft of the pitot head and other aerials, for communicating with troops on ground? Looks like landing approach aerials forward of the artwork on nose. Always impressed by the height of the Stirling's pilot above ground level!

Certainly a Mk.IV Transport. Italeri do a model (Italeri Kit No. 1350 –Stirling Mk.IV) and I would love to be able to have this one done if I could nail dawn the serial.

Could the aircraft represent glider tows?

Must be a Stirling from No.38 (Airborne Force) Group. At least the following squadrons used Stirling: 299, 190, 196, 620. The aircraft - must be glider tows (D-Day, Arnhem?) Parachutes with containers - supply drops to resistance forces, SAS but probably also airborne forces Bomb - No.38 (Airborne Force) Group made a small number of tactical night bombings in support of No.2 Group. Most of these in the beginning of 1945. Can the remaining symbols mean “cloak and dagger” operations – SOE? Looks like a knife.

Its the aircraft flown by Noel Sutherland DFC wih 190 squadron and is one of a number of photos copied from his album in 2015. Noels DFC was awarded for after his third run over Arnhem ,only three of the squadrons 12 Stirlings made it back. I wrote a detailed article on Noel published in the Aero Historian Vol 60 #2. The serial of Easy is not recorded in Noels logbook.
