True, and in the same vein all Aucklanders either lived in a house on Takapua Beach or with a view of Rangitoto. Yeah, checks out. I recall visiting a family friend's place in the late 70s to watch a US nuke sub visit Auckland, with their place having great views of Rangitoto and, from memory, being at or near Takapuna/hauraki

Here is another of the numbered vessels. Looks to be 219. DAMAGED IN HARBOUR COLLISION: The 33ft. launch Princess Pat lying in Mechanics' Bay with her damaged starboard side under water, after being involved in a collision with the vehicular ferry steamer Eaglehawk. Part of the dodger, which was torn away, is floating alongside. NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 8 FEBRUARY 1944
