Great Northern Air Race 28th to 30th of January 2023
The first stage will depart NZNE at ~1100 on the first morning (28th), with a lunch stop in Thames, before heading off on the second stage to Rotorua, to enjoy the hospitality of the Rotorua Aero Club. Stage three will depart NZRO at ~1100, heading south to go around Mt Ruapehu for a lunch stop likely to be at Taupo. The fourth and final legal of GNAR23 proper will be back to NZRO to again enjoy the hospitality of the Rotorua Aero Club before heading into town for the Race Awards Dinner. Racing on Monday, back to North Shore, is for the Edward Menery Memorial Cup. Also planning is in place to have the entire race fleet round North Head at 1530hrs on that final afternoon, just to add a little more atmosphere to the Anniversary Day Regatta. Costs this year are $100 per team, and $190 per person - this covers everything EXCEPT accommodation (so all meals - 3x lunches, 2x dinners - and all transport to/from accommodation). So you'll only need to look after the actual flying costs.
Winners will also be receiving cash prizes to go along with the trophies that are presented
There is a limit of the number of entries at 30 aircraft, so don't wait any longer to get your entry in and secure your spot for the first big aviation event of 2023.
