Hi everyone, I am posting on here to get confirmation from members on my understanding of the award of the Bomber Command Clasp that was belatedly awarded to Bomber Command aircrew in 2013; particularly pertaining to No.75 Sqn RNZAF during WW2.
As I understand it, No.75 Sqn was an RAF Bomber Command Operational Unit and therefore the clasp can be awarded to aircrew who participated in at least one operational sortie in a Royal Air Force Bomber Command operational unit between 3 September 1939 and 8 May 1945 inclusive.
If this is the case, is the clasp still available via NZDF application for a former Stirling bomber aircrew member KIA in 1943 near Markelo (The Netherlands) which then can be added to his 1939-45 Star.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Mike
