Alex and Brad brought the 4-place Sling TSi that everyone calls "Nemo" up from the Mighty Manawatu to Waikato Aviation to let a few pilots have a turn at the controls. A nice machine by all reports. This one is a homebuilt but the Sling factory in South Africa do a two seater LSA factory built model as well. Quite a crowd gathered. Small but powerful Rotax 915iS engine. Waikato Aviation CFI, Will Nicholl, goes for a familiarisation hop with Club President, Phil Dunn, in the back. If any other clubs want to organise a chance to have a look at the aircraft, I'm sure Alex and Brad would be happy to make a flying visit. Sling Aircraft NZI have no affiliation with Sling Aircraft. I just liked the machine and the owner/agent's willingness to share it with interested folk.

Alex and Brad are great chaps, and they have done a brilliant job on he build. The aircraft is impressive, and it's amazingly fast and quiet. I really love Nemo.

After having a go myself I totally understand the appeal. Quite a neat machine and a delight to fly.

Fully FADEC, straight and level cruising at 75% power gives 135knots @ 28L/hr.
It has more than enough elbow room and useful load to easily cope with a couple of 'larger' blokes up front and I liked the layout of the controls and switches. Someone sure has put some thought into the design.

It shows what Cessna and Piper could do if they didn't insist on continuing to build the same dinosaurs they've been making since the 1950s.
