I am not an r/c modeller but I love all things flight, so I have been a fan of the Flite Test channel on YouTube for almost six years now. The guys are brilliant at innovation, engineering, ingenuity, flying skills and plain old fashioned fun. I had not been watching since the beginning however, so it was really interesting to see this documentary about Flite test come up, giving the full history of the brilliant series and company.
I love the philosophy of these guys, wanting everyone to get involved and experience building and flying model aeroplanes. Flite Fest looks like one of the most amazing events around. And their scheme to get kids into the hobby is superb, especially as they design kits that are cheap and robust for learners. Think of the skills kids pick up on from design and build, aerodynamics, painting, working with wood or foam or other materials, and also the community fellowship of social park flying.
