Can anybody suggest where I may be able to obtain a copy of a newspaper article that was published about the ferry flight of NZ7621 from the UK in 1976?
The article was written by a representative of the RNZAF Public Relations Office (Flt/Lt Francis ??) and was entitled Around the World in 42 Days, or something similar. It documented the experiences of the crew from their departure from Whenuapai aboard a C130 to their return with the aircraft after a journey that turned out to be everything except what was planned.

What is you interest in this flight? A group of us historians have written the history of the Andovers in RNZAF service which will be published in forthcoming issues of the Aviation Historical Society of New Zealand (AHSNZ) "The Aviation Historian" journals this year. Included will be the delivery flights

One of the 'undertakers' - the late Cpt George's endearing title for his maintenance crew.

Send a PM to CAMTECH on this forum. Les has the best collection of Andover material and may have that article in his collection. I remember George Oldfield well as when he was an Iroquois captain he hovered his aircraft over my slit trench on the shores of Lake Tekapo during Ex Westwind in 1967. He was grinning as the dust and dirt swirled!!

I do have a copy of that article, from the Western Leader I believe. Off the top of my head, Smokey Dawson was the framey. Have to dig it out to find the rest. Email me at 780mf@gmail.com
