Is anyone here in touch with the family of the late wartime fighter pilot (P-40s and Corsairs) and postwar topdressing pilot John Peter Riddell?
I understand he founded East Coast Air Service.
He had three children, Peter, Lynley and Susan. Does anyone here know them please?

Was he not secretary of the agricultural division of the Aviation Industry Association for several years? This was back in the 1970s. Try contacting one of the AIA members with a sense of history.

Sorry Dave but no luck with my Gisborne connections - would be about the same age but don't know the names at all.

This is his death notice. I wonder if any grandchildren can be traced.
RIDDELL, John Peter. Peacefully on the 21st August 2013, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Pamela, father of Peter, Lynley and Susan, and father- in-law of Susan, Stephen and the late Jonathan. Adored grandfather of Matthew, James, Thomas, Tiffany, Georgia, Victoria and Geoffrey, and great grandfather of Charlotte, Beau, Willoughby and Louis. A special gentleman. May you be soaring high above the clouds in your Tiger Moth.
