I am attempting to use an airbrush I purchased that unfortunately came with no instructions or guides for use.
I have set it up with my compressor running through an old Oxy regulator so I have fine adjustment with pressure.
I have managed to spray water onto cardboard as a test and have purchased some Italeri Acrylic Clear Gloss to paint over a model with brushed on flat Humbrol enamel so I can apply decals. I don't want to use Humbrol Clear Gloss as it isn't clear.
The Italeri paint is white, not clear, but I figured it may dry clear. I can't find any advice on thinning ratios so tried 50/50 with water but it just runs off the model, or if I reduce the volume through the airbrush, has no coverage.
The problem is I really don't know what I'm doing and need some kind person with experience to get me going.
Thanks in advance.

For those interested, research through the Net, experimentation and perseverance have produced results.
Pressure needs to be around 25psi.
Italeri acrylic needs to be thinned about 20%.
And yes, it does dry clear.
I'm so pleased with first results using Italeri's "Helliblau" RLM65 on the underside of a Luftwaffe aircraft, that it will be my choice of paint and method in the future.
