I am thinking that it is very likely nowadays that most of the RNZAF members who flew as aircrew in the Catalinas and the Sunderlands in WWII will now be dead.
But does anyone have an estimate of how many aircrew that flew postwar in the Catalinas and the Sunderland flying boats are still with us today? Would it be in the dozens? Or hundreds?
Are the Hobsonville Old Boys Association or the No. 5 Squadron Association keeping track of numbers? I am just curious.
