I have a few kits for sale on ebay search.ebay.com.au/_W0QQsassZgib_69QQhtZ-1I'm going to keep a P-40, to do a RNZAF P-40. The questions I have are What P-40s did the RNZAF operate in comabt? Which of the 3 kits should I keep? What aftermarket decal sets are available?

Hi Calum, No. 15 Squadron used secondhand P40E's in Tonga and most of these were taken forward to defend Espiritu Santo in the New Hebrides in February 1943. So that's that model. P40K's were also used operationally in comabt, as were P40N's and M's. See this site here for a bit more detail rnzaf.hobbyvista.com/p40_1.html#RNZAF%20ServiceBut for the whole entire story in full detail I highly recommend Chris Rudge's excellent book "Air-to-Air" which describes in detail all RNZAF P-40 combats See www.warbirdsite.com/air-to-air.html

If you can track a copy of this sheet down... though its out of print I believe AEROMASTER SP48-10 has two RNZAF options - P-40N-1 NZ3148, 'Gloria Lyons', and P-40N-20 NZ3254 '54'
