Jean Batten Gipsy Moth to 1/72nd.

Hi again. Just completed an A Model kit of the Gipsy Moth with the metal fuselage as used by Jean Batten on her record breaking flight back in the 1930s.   The reggie letter decals  were produced for me  and the Castrol logo with route listing from a spare item form the OMD decals.

Hear hear, lovely job Paul! I like it a lot! How was the kit? I’ve found Amodel to be a mixed bag.

Just a guess - did that figure come from the Frog Gipsy kit?

Hi Zac. Yes the figure was from a FROG Gipsy. I found it among my aircrew figures and thought it appropriate. Note the white flying helmet. As for the A Model kit, it's nice but a lot of parts need cleaning but the undercart and other fine parts are very fragile. Quite a testing kit but worth it to get a reasonable nice Metal Moth or any of the other Moths that AModel do.

lol, yes like a lot of Amodel models they definitely not "shake and bake". I seem to remember having to 'play' with the wing struts length quite a bit in my builds to get the right angle of attack for the top wing
