As for the RNZAF operating Spitfires... in our dreams! If you want to sell something aviation related quickly and for a high price just say it came out of a Spitfire.

Anthony Galbraith had to get a round rear view mirror for his T7 Auster as they were fitted in RAF service. Exactly same as Spitfire one.....hence not cheap since they were usually sold as being Spitfire ones......who would buy one off an Auster!🙂

I would hazard a guess and suggest that " G.G.S." stood for Gyroscopic Gun Sight.
I think I saw one of these cameras mounted on top of the gun sight of a Vampire on public display near the Wgton waterfront centuries ago.
