Does anyone know of a way to post photos on here from an android phone? I understand we need to go through Flickr etc but the only way I can manage to generate a bbcode is on my laptop which is a pain especially when out and about. I'm sure there used to be a way? Thanks

The utility that someone did isn't available any more. But if you go to Flickr in your browser you should be able to tell it to use the Desktop site (defaults to mobile version) and use the normal share button there.

Thanks Errol, once I figured how to force it to the desktop site I got it done. Cheers.

I'm in the same boat. The last time I loaded photos I emailed them to myself to get them onto my laptop and then uploaded them from there. Bit of a hassle. Why cant they just have an APP for flickr to load on an android phone and then, presumerably, the process will be easier. I will then load more frequent photos from MoTaT.
Cheers Richard

Every hosting site would prefer that you link directly to "your" content from other locations, rather than displaying an image that you host there - this is why only Flickr has a practical option to do so without getting into even more fiddly options. I have set Flickr to auto-upload (wi-fi only) photos taken on my phone (default Private). If you don't want to do this, use the camera icon at top right of the app to take a photo, or upload from there (once you figure out where the phone has put the photo that you took). Or use the Upload option on the Desktop Site version of the web page (but finding the photos likely to be a pain).

I made a couple of unsuccessful attempts to submit images a few years back so gave up. It appeared significantly more complex than other sites to which I contribute images.

Like anything I guess if you do it often enough and set yourself up it becomes easier, but I find it a hassle and I would share more pics if there was an easier way. I understand costs would be prohibitive to set this forum up to host its own pictures. Has anyone found an easier hosting site or method than Flickrs?

There used to be 3 or 4 options, but no-one can make a free-to-most-users model work. Someone has to pay for the hosting, it might be a lot cheaper to host than it used to be, but it isn't nothing.
If you don't mind posting a link rather than having the photo appear in the forum, there a more options.
