Announced at RIAT & following more than a decade of lobbying by a few of us I'm stoked that they chose A84-240 as it's going to be of interest to both Kiwi & Aussie collectors. Perhaps the museum might be able to make a buck from them too... History of aircraft: A84-240, GAF Canberra Mk.20 first flew Jan '57 and spent almost its whole life with 2 Sqn, apart from times at ARDU and in storage. It flew the RAAF's first jet bombing mission in Sept '58 with 2 Sqn during the Malaysian Emergency, flew again in Vietnam between '67 and '71 with 2 Sqn. It was retired from 2 Sqn in Aug 82 and was involved in the last flight by 2 Sqn before disbandment. Stored in Serviceable condition at 3AD till Aug '84 when it was gifted to the RNZAF Museum and flown to New Zealand.

Fantastic! That would be a neat one for the collection.

Wing tip bombs look a bit weird

Shorty, I had a quick look on google images for the Vietnam RAAF Canberras and indeed the wingtip bombs were cantered outwards! Very unusual configuration, would have thought it would have caused some drag component at those angles
