News emerging here is that CAC CA-18 Mustang VH-MFT A68-110 which had been based in Maroochydore Queensland had been for sale in recent times at an asking price of US$2.45 million. VH-MFT was painted to represent A68-769 'Snifter', had a 2nd seat with dual controls and offered adventure flights. It was a regular participant at airshows here in Australia and was owned by a small syndicate. It has been listed as sold w.e.f. 21 August 2023, with an announcement by the adventure flight operators shortly afterwards advising that they would no longer be able to offer flights in this aircraft and any advance bookings were now cancelled and those with pre-paid advance bookings would be contacted regarding refunds where appropriate. Things are moving quickly as of yesterday/Friday, it was reported as already being prepared for disassembly and crating for shipping to its new owner in the UK. No indication yet if the new owner is in the UK, or if it is going to the UK to have some work done before proceeding onto its eventual owner. To quote the old Toyota advert........."Bugger!!". That is the second Mustang to leave Aussie this month. This one is going to a good home though.
