Hi There, It has been a long time since I checked in, and I hope that all is well with you. I primarily follow Full Noise but am aware of Steadfast and other projects down there. I have been to Reno and watched Strega fly to victory but that was 30 years ago! I have been watching the live feed and it should be easy to find. As I understand it Graeme and crew are out there right now. The history of the Unlimiteds is amazing but I have become a true fan of the Sport class. Cheers, Steve

The Sport class is amazing. Sadly the Air Races ended this morning with the collision of two T6's on finals after their race. Both pilots were killed and there was no injures on the ground. The days racing events are still on the Live Channel but ends at the end of the T6 Race. Not the final Air Show that everyone wanted but the accident will leave an indelible mark on everyone who was there. The only time I visited Reno was for three days in 1975 where two people were killed, one in a T6 and the other on a Stearman. To the brighter side, I got to talk Bob Hoover and Andy Griffith.

Yes a really sad end to the event today. RIP to both pilots.

Yeah...was watching it on live-stream and really looking forward to the Gold final for the Sports class when my feed stopped. A while later the first reports started coming in...
So sad 😞

I was at Reno from Wednesday to Sunday. Up until the T-6 collision it had been a fantastic week and I'll share some photos later. I was out at Pylon Two and did not see the incident, but my travelling companions - who were in the T-6 pits - did. The only time I visited Reno was for three days in 1975 where two people were killed, one in a T6 and the other on a Stearman. A few years ago I stumbled across a film of the latter accident - quite harrowing, I'm so sorry you had to witness these.
