I wonder if Gavin and Tony and the team at Ardmore who're restoring the Canberra would be interested?

Thanks Dave, I don't have their contact details but just messaged their Facebook page. Let me know if you get a reply if you don't mind. Cheers.

Please tell us what the trailer was used for, or was it never finished off?

We recovered it as is. Had a large spray tank and pump on it, not sure what it was used for or what liquid it held.

Possibly used for crop spraying. I remember (from my very young childhood experiences) that in the Nelsoln province, there were many "vehicles" (actually trailers) built or modified from other trailers which mounted a largish engine and a pump and fan which was used for spraying insecticide out and away from the trailer, which was towed by a tractor along the many dirt roads provided between rows of apple (and other types of fruit) trees. They made a fairly loud noise, and everything (and everyone!) was drenched by the airborne mixture, although the operators generally tried to protect themselves from the mist of spray, as they knew it was probably not making them any healthier. For these vehicles, large, fairly low pressure aircraft wheels and tyres were favoured - I think Airspeed Oxford items were considered to be pretty good, and obviously somebody decided that Canberrs wheels might be even better! Mosquito wheels may also have been tried too as many of these were available, but they were probably a lot heavier than Oxford ones.

Maybe an aircraft on a "Vanguard" deployment?

I don't think it is an operational photo because there is a potential FOD problem. Someone has stowed, stashed or discarded their Hi-vis jacket among the u/c mechanism. If this is a control lock, the flag should be unfurled and hanging down, or it may have been and then flicked up by the wind?
