If you have visited the MoTAT aviation hall in Auckland recently you will have seen that we now have a nice bright blue helicopter set up for the children (and quite a few adults) to sit in, play with some of the knobs and levers, and make vroom vroom noises. This has proven to be a really popular item. However, we don't want too many kids going over the the Dark Side, so I am exploring the possibility of setting up a fixed-wing fuselage alongside there in a similar manner. Entry and exit needs to be easy and accessable, and quite often a parent likes to sit in the rear while their offspring has all the fun in the front. So I think the ideal starting point would be a Cessna 172 (or similar high wing four-seater) fuselage. While we obviously dont need the noisy bit from up front and the tail would be optional, some stub wings would make it look good. So if you have a condemned airframe lying around that would be a suitable starting point (or know someone who does) I would very mush like to hear from you.

What a terrific idea! I hope a suitable candidate can be found.
