Thanks Zac, waiting to confirm I'm on my way to the UK. Boss is certain it will happen, just have to get funding approved. If able ill spend a few days in Helsinki taking pics of the crashed Finnish Kukko (licened built Gamecock). Please ask your suggested contact to email me. Regards Stephen

Well the idea to build a Gloster Grebe (in particular NZ501) seems to be growing legs. In the last week I have had so much information and support that I think that the project is very doable. However, still missing parts of the puzzle, such as an engine (funny that, that is important). Also looking for any photos that show the underneath, top and forward of the pilots seat.
I have to say, that the contacts I have made on here have been super helpful. Gentlemen I am in grateful gratitude to you.
Regards
Stephen

To follow up on this, for those of you who are not aware of what Stephen is attempting to do, he has a Facebook page, through which he is making contacts in the hope of fulfilling his proposal to build a replica of NZ501. Here is the page. If you're on FB it is worth keeping tabs on. It's early days, but much is being discussed and revealed about the humble wee Grebe as a species... www.facebook.com/groups/347963671009520Grebe NZ501. Thank you Grant for the post.
As you know, I've managed to get some plans for a Watts Propeller out of Australia. Though for a slightly different application, the propeller was for a Jaguar-engined aircraft. All I need to do now is see if the RNZAF Museum propeller is the same.
Exciting days ahead

Can anyone tell me what other (if any) aircraft operated with Jaguar engines in New Zealand?

Can anyone tell me what other (if any) aircraft operated with Jaguar engines in New Zealand? Hi madmac, You raise a good question. I am not aware of any RNZAF/NZPAF aircraft using the Jaguar engine. What I do know is that the Mongoos (used on the tomtits) had the same piston barrels as the Jaguars, which might also mean they had also had some common parts.

Good afternoon all,
As way of an update (on the place it all began). We are making steady progress on pulling together information and data on the Gloster Grebe. If you're following us on FB you'll note a fair bit of activity for something that really was just someone asking a question.
If you don't frequent FB and you're curious to know more than let me know via here or if you have information on the Gloster Grebe you think would be helpful (remember no amount of information is too small) then please send through to NZ501glostergrebe@gmail.com
Thank yo all in advance

Haven't posted in here for a while.
To update those that don't use FB, the project is moving ahead. We are currently setting up a Charitable Trust and....
We are in negotiations regarding a Armstrong Siddley Jaguar engine. The gentleman that owns it is very keen to hear more about our project. Suffice to say he likes the idea of rebuilding NZ501.
All of this is great news for us, but more importantly those helping this project come together. We still need more people to be involved. If you can support this project, then email nz501glostergrebe@gmail.com
Thank you in advance
