Happy 100th Birthday to Air Commodore Mal Gunton

Today is Air Commodore Mal Gunton's 100th birthday.

Mel is one of the VERY few remaining living RNZAF fighter pilots from WWII. He flew Corsairs in the Pacific and then in Japan postwar. He later flew Sunderlands and Orions.

That book would be an interesting one. Haven't seen it before.

The book was only given to family members. I managed to get a photo copy of it from his daughter a few years ago.

So many of these stories have gone that way - written and shared only with a few. So much history must sit in such books and manuscripts.
