Very nice. You've done a great job
Picked up this kit on the weekend. It's in the to do list ( a fair way down). But I'm going to build it as the aircraft in the box.

I think it looks fantastic. I remember this very Avenger being the gate guard at former RNZAF Base Te Rapa, now it's in the RNZAF Museum.

Thanks Dave
I appreciate the comment, I always liked that scheme myself too.
Nice to see her tucked away safely in the museum now. She is quite a famous plane that one.
Cheers

Indeed. It is nice to know that the scheme that aircraft now wears commemorates NZ2521. which was lost on an op with a brand new crew on their first mission after arrival at the front line just a week before. That is dreadfully sad. The Navigator was Malcolm Harsant from Cambridge. I have a copy of his log book detailing all the training he went through etc, all to culminate with his death before completing his first op. Terrible. More details on him on my site here www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/Malcolm%20Harsant.htm

Anthony, Curious on the colour used for the yellow undies and the measurements for placement of the black stripes? I ask because I'm about to start painting a 1/72 S2C-5 Helldiver in the scheme and only have an average colour side profile to work off. Any idea if the upper wing bands are a standard target tug marking as well? Might have to use a little artistic license for mine.
BTW, will you be up here for the Nationals? Working on anything of interest?

Thanks Guys
I appreciate the comments, I would love to come up for the Nationals but cant. As regards the yellow, you are welcome to some of my Yellow Laquer I had mixed at an automotive colour shop or give you a spectrum number they used. I dont know if there are standard sizes for wing bands and/or stripes. I just spent hours going over photos of the actual one I built and marked all the positions on several sets of plans.
I am sure you will be safe with a bit a bit of artistic licence if you cant find enough pics.
Sling us some shots of her when shes done, I always liked that scheme on Helldivers
Hope this helps
