Got to read about Pat Pattle - born 1924 South Africa - died april 1941 - Greece
His aerial score is vague because of destroyed records; etc; etc but one conclusion was 51 destroyed + 5 probables and 5 damaged
Some others say not less than 40 ............ some say 65
A fair percentage of those aerial victories from the outdated Gloster Gladiator aircraft - then later the Hawker Hurricane
Pat's deeds are largely forgotten as that theatre of war was eclipsed by the other theatres
The book is more a recollection of what happened and is simplistic at the start and becomes more factual; in fact; towards the end
