That is a really interesting collection of dead aeroplanes, waiting to be resurrected! I wonder who owns it all.
I wonder if the P-40 is real or is it a fibreglass replica? And same with the Spitfire that he calls a P-51. They look fake, which makes me wonder if this was once Dave Tallichet's stuff.

There are quite a few similar yards in the California desert, mainly at Victorville and Mojave. For example, have a look in Google Earth at the Aviation Warehouse Inc at El Mirage and you will see the office. Just to the SW across the road is their large yard full of old aircraft bits and helicopter bodies. There are others as well for those who have a day to while-away some time searching.
George Airforce Base further to the south has (by my count) over 200 modern airliners parked in the desert, and there are other large yards full of old vehicles being scrapped and lots of pipes (from the oil industry, I presume) stored in a dry environment. Or take a Google Earth trip to the end of Barten Road (in El Mirage) to see even more yards full of scrapped god-knows-what. It looks like the high desert is a mecca for storing scrap.
Further to the north of El Mirage is Edwards Airforce Base and Rogers Dry lake where you can see several famous experimental and production aircraft parked on display (such as the SR71, Northrop H10 lifting body, and several other unusual aircraft (all on display near the intersection of Lilly Ave and Walker Ave. This area is to the north of the main base.

I zoomed in and took a screen shot the exhausts on the spitfire are all wrong and the P40 nose doesn't look right? In saying that what a cool yard to look over, very organised for the most part, some cool stuff was waiting for the drone to be taken out by a shot gun?!

For anyone looking for this in Google Earth, then search for "Mitchell Aircraft Components, Octillo Wells"

Have spent quite some time in Ocotillo Wells yard when we were doing the Ventura. Collected a lot of PV-2 parts that were interchangeable.
