Very nice! Good to see an 'outsider' making a Kiwi Corsair, instead of just another US one.

Yes it's nice but whoa, those decals look totally the wrong colour on the roundels. So many decl makers think the RNZAF roundels were really light blue all the time. Maybe if you make your model really weathered and beaten up by the coral could such light colours be almost acceptable, but not a pristine NZ-based Corsair such as this. Not taking anything away from the nice build by the modeller though.

Hi to all. There is also an example of the Italeri/Accurate Miniatures Avenger on Plastic Pics at Hyperscale that also has the wrong blue for the roundels - spoils an otherwise very well made model in both cases to those who know better!
The great pity is that after all these years of trying to publish what the correct colours were, we still get this happening!
Rant off, Pete M.

I agree Peter, there's enough correct information out there, and well researched warbird schemes (two flying Corsairs, a few P-40's and an Avenger in the past few years wearing the correct colours), yet decal researchers still use the light sade which surely came from a bad coloured wartime picture of a weathered example, or the worn down faded colour seen on 1960's and 70's photos of the Rukuhia scrap yard.
It's not on really. And what can the modeller do? As most manufacturers have it wrong, you have few alternatives to go to.
